Provides support and education to empower the community to reduce crime victimization and promote positive outcomes. Services provided: - Confidential services - Court accompaniment and victim advocacy - Assistance with protective orders and filing reparation applications - Information and referral - Safe at Home Application assistance - Safety planning - Women's educational/support group - Volunteer opportunities

The Department administers the various cash and medical assistance programs as well as child support; is a member of the Blue Plus, UCare, and SCHA delivering the MA programs; operates a licensed Mental Health Center and Crime Victims' Crisis Center; provides child and vulnerable adult protective services; services to persons with developmental disabilities and chemical dependency; in-home family counseling; provides adolescent (SED) day treatment jointly with the Albert Lea School District and children's mental health services.
