Historical Society - Dakota County Historical Society

- Lawshe Memorial Museum houses a research center library of county and regional histories, books, documents, maps, genealogical collections, online databases, oral history tapes, and related items. County newspapers going back to 1857 are microfilmed and readers are available to examine them. On file are hundreds of photographs, articles, and clippings. Copying services offered in research center. - Museum display area has historical exhibits including a mural that is over 80 feet long which depicts scenes from around the county - Special events and educational programming offered on periodic basis - Gift shop has books, prints, and souvenirs for sale - LeDuc Historic Estate provides guided tours, history events, and programs - Sibley Historic Site provides guided tours, history events, and programs - Sites can be rented for events
