Emergency Housing - Stepping Stone Emergency Housing

Temporary, short-term shelter of 66 beds for men and women. Works with residents one-on-one to create an individualized plan to help them move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Provides a variety of on-site supports from classes on topics like financial literacy and job interview skills, to weekly medical appointments and more to help residents take steps toward independence with dignity and compassion.

Application process

Call to access a shelter bed. Depending on availability, bed can be reserved on a first-come first-served basis.

Required documents

State identification if available. Driver's license and proof of insurance to keep vehicle on property.

Eligibility

Single men and women ages 18 and older who are residents of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Scott, and Washington counties. Must be able to physically take care of themselves. Cannot be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Cannot have committed violent felonies in the past three years, nor convictions for murder, arson, or sex offenses. Cannot take registered sex offenders.
