During the Early Childhood Screening, staff including licensed early childhood teachers, speech pathologists, and school nurses will check the child's vision, hearing, growth, immunization status, and skills in thinking, communication and language, large and small muscles, and social/emotional development. After the screening, parents/guardians will be given a full report of your child's learning and growth. Information to support your job as a parent will also be available. Early Childhood Screening is free. School Readiness Public school program available for all 3- to 5-year-old children who are not yet in kindergarten. The purpose is to provide children with adequate opportunities to participate in child development programs that enable them to enter school with the necessary skills and behaviors. It also supports family stability needed for the children to progress and flourish. School Readiness is designed to match a wide variety of services with the needs of participating children. Those with the greatest needs, as identified through an early childhood screening process, receive priority for the more comprehensive services.
