- Provides preventive and promotive counseling to families with primary focus on expectant mothers, postpartum mothers and infants - A Public Health nurse will: - Make prenatal visits to expectant mothers - Visit new parents, babies, and children 0-3 yr. - Visit with families of children with special needs - Assist families in attaining government assistance programs like WIC - Make referrals to physicians, inter-agency early childhood intervention, social services and other related outreach programs as needed
