Children's Mental Health Residential Treatment Services - Cass County Health, Human and Veterans Services

Children's mental health residential treatment is a 24-hour-a-day program under the clinical supervision of a mental health professional, in a community setting, other than an acute care hospital or regional treatment center inpatient unit. This benefit is available for all eligible children placed in residential treatment by counties for whom the service is medically necessary.

Eligibility

Primarily serves Cass County This benefit is available for all eligible children placed in residential treatment by counties for whom the service is medically necessary. The children must: -Be screened by the county before placement in these facilities. The screening must establish whether the proposed treatment: -Is necessary; -Is appropriate to the child's individual treatment needs; -Cannot be effectively provided in the community; and -Provides a length of stay as short as possible consistent with the individual child's need. -Be appropriate for this level of care. -Meet the criteria for severe emotional disturbance.
