Provides investigation and intervention services on behalf of vulnerable adults who are unable to act on their own behalf, manage their own affairs, or are in immediate danger of abuse. Types of abuse may be physical, emotional, sexual abuse, unsafe or hazardous living conditions, exploitation, neglect, or abandonment. Services include:
- Taking reports and investigating abuse and/or maltreatment
- Removal of the individual to safer surroundings
- Services necessary to remove the conditions which have created a threat of life
