Assists students and families with special education needs access to appropriate services, including services in the following disability areas and related service areas:
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Deaf and hard of hearing
  • Deaf-blindness
  • Developmentally adapted physical education
  • Developmental cognitive disability
  • Emotional or behavioral disorders
  • Physically impaired
  • Severely multiply impaired
  • Specific learning disability
  • Speech or language impairments
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Visually impaired
Children may be eligible for special education services at birth. Parents may also initiate the request for evaluation by submitting a written request for evaluation to the school. NOTE: Child must live or be attending a school in the district.
