- Issues Building Permits outside of municipalities- Issues Use Permits, Planned Unit Development, Subdivisions - Enforce state handicap regulations - Enforces Zoning Ordinances, MN Shoreland Regulations, and Sanitation Ordinances - Gives out Sanitation information and permits - Provides information on Water Testing (Kits and Mail-in) - Provides Shoreland Alteration Permits- Burning Permits (they are foresters for DNR). - Administers and enforces regulations for Garbage Disposal and Recycling Programs- Manages County Transfer Station and 12 outlying canister sites - Promotes and maintains recycling program and hazardous waste collection program
