Departments and Services:

Administration: Provides centralized direction and leadership for the effective administration and operations of all municipal services for the City of St. Charles

Elections: Provides election, voting, and polling place information

Electric Department: Responsible for the engineering, construction, and maintenance of the system for distribution of electrical energy, including electric connects and disconnects, installing electrical facilities, and providing and maintaining back-up generation systems

Fire Department: Operates on an all-volunteer basiswith 30 fire fighters

Park and Recreation: Offers community center and park pavilion rentals, and recreational activities including kids sports, aquatic center, and swimming lessons

Senior Center: Offers activities for social/recreational and educational growth to anyone

Utilities and Public Works: Provides connection, billing, and services for electric, garbage and recycling, sewer, storm water, and water

Water and Street:

- Water: Responsible for producing and treating all potable water supplied to the distribution system

- Street: Responsible for street patching and paving, ditch cleaning and street grading, street sweeping and bike path maintenance, and street signs and crossings. Also responsible for un-planned street maintenance and cleanup of accidents, floods, snow removal, de-icing activities, etc, and analyzing street.
