Medical Assistance - MA - Swift County Human Services
A federal assistance program that helps pay for the medical and nursing home care of persons who cannot pay for that care. Covered medical services may include: - Chemical dependency care - Eye care - Hospital care - Mental health treatment - Nursing home care - Physician care - Prescriptions - Reimbursement for medical transportation and other health care access services available - Routine dental care ?NOTE: Persons may be eligible only for MA or they may also be eligible for one of the cash assistance programs, Emergency Medical Assistance (EMA), and/or Food Support services. Those who receive cash through MFIP or MSA will, with few exceptions, also receive MA. MA is different from Medicare.

Eligibility
Persons must meet specific income, asset and property guidelines; and who fall into one of the following categories of eligibility: - Under age 21 or age 65 and over - Disabilities - Blind - Pregnant - Parents or caretakers of a child under age 19 (in come circumstances)
