Description

Families of children on the Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare programs are contacted and encouraged to obtain well child check-ups for their children. Exams are completed at the child or young adult's medical clinic and include: - Complete head to toe physical exam - Information about good physical and mental health - Physical growth measurements - Referrals to other health specialists if needed - Time to ask questions and get answers about the child's health, behavior, and development At certain ages, an exam will also include: - Developmental and behavioral checks - Hearing and vision screenings - Immunizations - Lead testing and other lab tests - Oral health screenings and fluoride varnish application Checkups qualify for school physicals, sports physicals, and Head Start required physicals.
