Description

Families of children enrolled in Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare may be contacted and encouraged to schedule regular well-child checkups. Exams are completed at the child or young adult's medical clinic and include: - Complete head-to-toe physical exam - Information about physical and mental health - Physical growth measurements - Referrals to other health specialists if needed - Time to ask questions about the child's health, behavior, and development At certain ages, exams may also include: - Developmental and behavioral assessments - Hearing and vision screenings - Immunizations - Lead testing and other lab tests - Oral health screenings and fluoride varnish Checkups can meet requirements for school, sports, and Head Start physicals.
