- Prior to initiating crisis response services, a screening of the potential crisis situation must be conducted. The screening must gather information, determine whether a possible crisis situation exists, identify parties involved, and determine an appropriate next step, commonly a referral to another resource or a crisis assessment - If a possible crisis exists, a crisis assessment must be completed or a more appropriate referral made - Crisis Intervention and Crisis Stabilization services may be provided based on the results of the crisis assessment
