Eligibility
  • Ages 12 - 28 years old who are in the hospital and a victim of a penetrative injury (generally gunshot or stab wound)
  • Must be a patient of Hennepin Healthcare
Hours
For initial bedside visit and in-hospital follow-up, staff are on-call weekends (Friday night to Sunday morning), regular (daily) rounds of hospital visits during the week. After hospital, individuals make care plans with outreach coordinator.

A hospital-based violence intervention program for victims of violent injuries that provides:
  • Immediate bedside support and intervention for participants and their families, and support systems
  • Post-discharge medical care
  • Ongoing individual support for participants once back in the community
  • Support in securing resources for job training, employment, housing, basic needs, crime victim resources, education, legal issues
