Volunteer Opportunities - Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency on Aging - Rochester

Need volunteers for helping all Medicare beneficiaries make decisions about Medicare's health and drug coverage, long term care insurance, or sorting out medical bills, Medicare claims, or filing appeals. Training on Medicare includes the 18-hour "Core Body of Knowledge", plus regular updates. Volunteers may focus on specific areas. - Computer skills are necessary - Fifty percent of the board must be over age 60, call the director for more details - Training is provided several times a year; locations may vary - There is also a volunteer opportunity to be a member of the agency's board of directors - Volunteers are able to go to homes of beneficiaries, community locations or work in the office

Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency on Aging - Rochester

Provides comprehensive assessment, support planning, service coordination, options counseling, and ongoing follow-up support to older adults seeking to remain in the community or return home from a stay at a healthcare facility. Support is also provided to involved family members and caregivers. Service is available statewide through Senior Linkage Line Community Living Specialists housed in each Area Agency on Aging.
