Volunteer Opportunities - Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency on Aging - Rochester

- Volunteers are needed to assist Medicare beneficiaries with decisions about health and drug coverage, long-term care insurance, medical bills, Medicare claims, and filing appeals. Training on Medicare includes the 18-hour "Core Body of Knowledge", plus regular updates. Volunteers may focus on specific areas. - - Computer skills are necessary - Fifty percent of the board must be over age 60, call the director for more details - Training is provided several times a year; locations may vary - There is also a volunteer opportunity to be a member of the agency's board of directors - Volunteers are able to go to homes of beneficiaries, community locations or work in the office
