Housing Support - Nobles County Community Services
Provides room and board in eligible settings for low-income older adults and adults living with disabilities with the goal of preventing institutionalization and homelessness. Individuals who do not qualify for home and community-based waiver programs may be able to receive supplemental service funding to provide other services, including but not limited to: - Arranging for appointments, meetings, and medical and social services - Assistance with transportation - Medication reminders

Fee
The individual's housing provider receives payments to pay for the individual's food, household supplies, rent, utilities, and other necessities. Depending on the individual's income, the individual may have to pay a portion of the Housing Support housing rate directly to the housing provider.

Eligibility
Residents of Nobles County must meet a combination of eligibility requirements set by the Supplemental Security Income program or General Assistance program to qualify for assistance. There are also income and asset limits. Generally, the program serves: - Older adults ages 65 and older - People younger than age 65 must have a condition that limits their self-sufficiency. For example, it may be a physical or mental health disability, visual impairment, or chemical dependency.
