Description

ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers. Activities for parents and children together, followed by group activity of songs and finger plays. Parents go to a discussion session led by the Parent Educator about topics parents have chosen, while the children stay with an Early Childhood Educator and participate in guided and free play activities. Sibling care is provided for families with more than one child at no additional cost. - Educational field trips - Parent/child education opportunities - Special events such as family concerts or guest speakers - School Readiness program for 4 and 5 year olds and their parents - Parent and family education through discussion groups or home visits
