Waivered Services: - Available to individuals with a variety of disabilities - CADI (Community Access for Disability Inclusion) Waiver supports individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible in their communities - Waivered services are flexible and can be tailored to meet individual needs in a variety of settings Waiver Programs for Individuals Who Need a Nursing Facility Level of Care: - AC (Alternative Care) Waiver supports older adults who do not qualify for traditional Medical Assistance due to assets but would otherwise require nursing home care. Services may include personal care assistance, independent living skills training, homemaking, respite, and in-home family support. - EW (Elderly Waiver) supports older adults who would otherwise need to live in a nursing facility, helping them remain in their homes or community-based settings - MR/RC (Developmental Disabilities) Waiver provides services to individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities or related conditions, supporting them in living meaningful and inclusive lives - TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) Waiver supports individuals who have experienced a significant brain injury due to accident, stroke, illness, or other causes, helping them live as independently as possible in the setting of their choice Personal Care Assistants (PCAs): - PCAs assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, taking medications, light housekeeping, and meal preparation - PCAs may also provide support with behavioral needs, helping individuals manage challenges in positive and supportive ways - PCAs can support individuals in a variety of settings, including their own homes, family homes, or foster care placements Other Services: - Individuals who are not eligible for the Developmental Disabilities Waiver may still qualify for similar supports through the CADI or PCA programs - In-home family support services help individuals build daily life skills such as self-care, communication, social interaction, sensory and motor development, and community living skills - In-home family support and respite services provided by RSI (or other organizations) offer valuable assistance to caregivers and families supporting individuals with disabilities - Respite services offer caregivers a temporary break, from a few hours to several days, either in the family home or in other supportive settings - Respite and in-home family supports are often part of waivered service programs and can be personalized to fit the needs and preferences of the individual and their family
