Peer Companion Program - Elder Network - Alexandria
The goal of this program is to match trained peer volunteer counselors with someone needing support due to life changes, loss, loneliness, or mental health needs of older adults. The peer counselor will make weekly in-home visits. Must be 55 or older. Peer volunteer counselors attend 24 hours of training in communication and active listening skills, aging, health care, and mental health issues.
