Adult Basic Education - Metro North Adult Basic Education

Partners with eight school districts and other community organizations in the northern metro area to offer adult basic education. Services provided: - Assistance in preparing for the GED examination is available at Anoka Technical College, Blaine Learning Center, Elk River ABE, and Saint Francis ABE - Brush-up instruction in reading, writing, and math is available at all sites except Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Centennial Adult Continuing Education, and Brooklyn Center ABE - Credit Recovery Diploma available at Blaine Learning Lab and Elk River ABE - English as a Second Language class for foreign-born adults is available at all sites except Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College - GED Testing Centers are located at the Anoka Technical College and the Blaine Learning Lab site - Minnesota State Diploma available at the Blaine Learning Lab and Elk River Community Education Center sites

Eligibility

Individuals ages 17 and older, not enrolled in a K-12 program, with a skill level below 12th grade, who live in the cities of Anoka, Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Circle Pines, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Elk River, Fridley, Lexington, Oak Grove, Ramsey, Saint Francis, and Spring Lake Park
