- Provides legal advice to the Board of Commissioners and to the various county office
- Represents the county in civil court and in administrative proceedings
- Responsible for prosecuting crimes occurring in the county
- Assists law enforcement agencies in the application for and obtaining of arrest and search warrants
- Represents petitioners in cases involving juvenile delinquency or children in need of protective services
- Represents the petitioner in judicial commitment hearings for mentally ill, retarded or chemically dependent persons - Handles Child support enforcement court proceedings
