Depending on an individual's condition, a therapist may recommend:

Augmentative and/or alternate communication methods
Breathing and relaxation techniques
Exercises
Language intervention activities
Positions or strategies to help an individual swallow more easily
Speech Therapy for Children
A child may benefit from speech-language therapy if he or she experiences:
Feeding or Swallowing Disorders: Problems eating or drinking
Language Disorder: Difficulty understanding or communicating
Speech Disorder: Difficulty making sounds
