Teen Court - Watonwan County Teen Court
- Holds juveniles offenders accountable in a timely manner - Offender must admit that they have committed the offense they have been charged with before appearing in teen court - Offender and offender's parents or legal guardian must agree to appear in teen court, follow set procedures, and complete consequences set by teen court - Offenders who appear in teen court and successfully complete all assigned consequences will have charges dismissed from record - Teen court jurors recruited from 8th to 12th grades in Watonwan County - Teen volunteers must be trained in the teen court process, including types of questioning, procedures, types of consequences, and oath of confidentiality - Teen jurors are not responsible for determining guilt or innocence - Jurors deliberate in private to determine sentences (consequences)
