- Administration Department: Is responsible for general government administration, communications, and economic development. The department also ensures that all policies and programs are efficiently implemented. The Department provides a variety of services, including maintaining city records, assembling City Council agendas, holding elections, and providing information to residents and businesses. - Department of Building Safety: Oversees all building permits issued while adhering to and enforcing the current Minnesota State Building Code. The city currently contracts with Metro West Inspection Services with plan reviews and inspection scheduling taking place at City Hall, call (763)441-2593 or email [email protected]. - Elections: Provides information regarding absentee voting, early in-person voting, by mail, and registration. - Fire Department: The City contracts with several surrounding communities for fire protection. - Mayor and City Council: Visit the website for Member contact information. The Council meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at Otsego Prairie Center; 8899 Nashua Avenue NE., Otsego Regular Council meetings begin at 7 pm. - Parks and Recreation: Maintains and develops parks, trails, amenities, and facilities throughout Otsego. - Planning and Zoning: Oversees the development of related activities and zoning administration to ensure that land uses are consistent with the city's long and short-term goals and objectives. - Public Works: Responsible for city streets, stormwater maintenance, tree trimming, roadside mowing, snow plowing/ice control, street sign maintenance, and repair. - Utilities: Responsible for sewer and water billing. The City of Otsego also maintains two municipal Wastewater Treatment facilities.
