Assists refugees fleeing poverty and political harassment; services include citizenship preparation, housing, employment, and cultural adjustment. Also assists refugees in accessing available governmental services. Information is available regarding the following:
- Adult day care for aged dependent
- Child care assistance
- Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)
- Low income housing
- MinnesotaCare
- Medicaid
- Public assistance
- Special supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
- Social security
Clients can receive assistance with the process of completing forms necessary to receive assistance from public support; also helps clients to correctly report to support providers and therefore maintain a client's support services.
Acts as an advocate on behalf of clients intervening with support services providers when necessary and helping procure translation services.
