None if family income is 0 - 60% of state median; some services based on ability to pay. No fees for protective services.

Investigates and assesses situations when a child's health or welfare may be at risk to due to abuse, neglect, or maltreatment. Accepts and responds to and/or investigate reports of child abuse, neglect or abandonment. Services may include:
- Acceptance of reports of abuse
- Assessment of the initial referral
- Consultation to individuals who suspect abuse
- Consultation with the family to determine the nature of the problem
- Dependency investigation
- Ongoing support services for children and their families
- Temporary placement of children who are removed from the home
- Works with the family toward unification or reunification
