Civil Commitment Procedures - Fillmore County Community Services - Social Services
Fillmore County Community Services provides advice, support, and assessment of the situation. Only the court system can make an involuntary commitment and only if the person is determined to be eligible and a commitment petition is filed with supportive documentation. The Family Services Section works with the courts, corporate counsel, law enforcement agencies, guardians, and families to see that people needing commitment receive the care and/or treatment services they need in the least restrictive setting possible.
