Home Ownership Program - Habitat For Humanity Serving Winona County
Habitat homes are built or renovated using as much volunteer labor and donated materials as possible. The recipient(s) must be involved in the construction of the homes. Houses are sold to recipient families or individuals at no profit, and no-interest mortgages are issued over a fixed period. Small monthly mortgage payments, including taxes and insurance, are repaid over an average of 30 years and deposited into a revolving "Fund For Humanity" which supports the construction of more houses.
