Eligibility

Primary service area: Children, youth, adults, and families who reside in Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca, and Watonwan counties - Infant and early childhood therapy models provided to young children within appropriate age ranges as part of Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Services. Specific age eligibility is typically defined by the therapy model: ABC: approximately ages 6 to 48 months CPP: birth through early childhood PCIT: early childhood years School-Linked Mental Health Services are offered in partnership with local schools as a way to increase access to counseling for children and youth who attend those schools

Description

Provides infant and early childhood therapy services, including: - Attachment Bio-behavioral Catch-up (ABC): An infant/toddler-caregiver treatment designed for young children who have experienced early adversity. Caregivers are coached in specific skills to strengthen attachment and reduce frightening or overwhelming interactions. - Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP): A trauma-informed child-caregiver treatment that explores how trauma and caregivers' relational history impact the caregiver-child relationship and the child's development. - Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT): A treatment for young children with emotional and behavioral concerns that focuses on strengthening caregiver-child interactions to improve calm, warmth, and positive behavior patterns. - School-Linked Mental Health Therapy: Services delivered within school settings to increase access to mental health support for children and youth who may otherwise face barriers to care.
