Eligibility
Household either owns or is purchasing an owner-occupied home in Renville County and has a qualifying income. Properties financed with Contract for Deeds and Mobile Homes do not qualify for financing. Real estate taxes must be up to date. Must have homeowners insurance.

  • Proof of availability of any additional financing needed to complete project
  • Photo id for notarization of mortgage

Program Fees

  • No Fee
Loans are available for down payment and closing cost assistance for first time home buyers or for home improvement financing for current homeowners.
  • Down payment loans are deferred.
  • Home improvement loans are repayable at 0% interest over 5 years.
  • Maximum loan is $6,000.
  • Loans are a $1 for $1 match of other investment in the project.
Some deferred home improvement loans are available to low income households with children or with a family member with a disability.
