Housing Support - Douglas County Health and Human Services
Provides room and board for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities with the goal of preventing institutionalization and homelessness. Individuals who do not qualify for home and community-based waiver programs may be able to receive supplemental service funding to provide other services, including but not limited to: - Arranging for appointments, meetings, and medical and social services - Assistance with transportation - Medication reminders

Fee
The housing provider receives payments to pay for the individual's food, household supplies, rent, utilities and other necessities. Depending on the individual's income, they may have to pay a portion of the Housing Support housing rate directly to the housing provider.

Eligibility
Residents of Douglas County must meet a combination of eligibility requirements set by the Supplemental Security Income program or General Assistance program to qualify for assistance. There are also income and asset limits. Generally, the program serves: - Older adults ages 65 and older - People younger than age 65 who have a condition that limits their self-sufficiency. For example, it may be physical or mental health disability, visual impairment, or chemical dependency.
