Minnesota Food Assistance Program - MFAP - Carlton County Public Health and Human Services - Financial Assistance Division

Provides state-funded food assistance to legal noncitizens ages 50 or older who do not qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps or Food Support) because of their citizenship status. Monthly benefits are loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. The card can be used to buy groceries at authorized stores, farmers markets, and online retailers. Learn more about where to shop and what can be bought. - 8 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday - Walk in: 10 am - 2 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; 12:30 pm - 2 pm Thursday; walk-ins are welcome on Fridays when there is an emergency situation

Qualified noncitizens or noncitizens ages 50 and older lawfully residing in Carlton County who meet all of the following: - Be eligible for SNAP except for the United States citizenship requirement - Not be enrolled in the Minnesota Family Investment Program
