Housing Support - Wabasha County Social Services
Provides room and board for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities with the goal of preventing institutionalization and homelessness. Individuals who do not qualify for home and community-based waiver programs may be able to receive supplemental service funding to provide other services, including but not limited to: - Arranging for appointments, meetings, and medical and social services - Assistance with transportation - Medication reminders

Fee
Housing provider receives payments for the individual's food, household supplies, rent, utilities, and other necessities. Depending on the individual's income, they may have to pay a portion of the Housing Support housing rate directly to the housing provider.
Eligibility
Residents of Wabasha County must meet a combination of eligibility requirements set by the Supplemental Security Income program or General Assistance program to qualify for assistance. There are also income and asset limits. Generally, the program serves: - Adults ages 65 and older - People younger than age 65 who have a condition that limits their self-sufficiency; examples include a physical or mental health disability, visual impairment or chemical dependency
