Assistance with Orders for Protection and Harassment Restraining Orders in Hennepin and Washington counties, and in suburban Ramsey County. Assists individuals who have experienced abuse; advocates help identify options, describe the process, help fill out the necessary paperwork, and go to court if necessary. Criminal and Civil Court Advocacy in Washington and suburban Ramsey counties. Assists victims of domestic abuse related crimes by providing support and information on rights and the criminal justice system. Advocates will attend court appearances with individuals. Legal Clinics to assist with family law, child protection law, and unmarried couples' legal issues. Allows individuals a chance to obtain legal advice from volunteer attorneys. Attorneys explain legal rights, review court documents, and provide advice on the next steps. Legal Services for Immigrant Families Limited Pro Bono legal representation may be available for individuals with complex family law issues. Self-Representation Clinics help low-income individuals represent themselves in family law cases. Volunteer attorneys will write documents, give legal advice, and help clients get ready for mediation, court conferences, and court hearings. Attorneys do not go to court or meet with the other side.
