  • Administration: Oversees and supports City departments and operations
  • Community Development: Oversees building, electrical permits, fence permits, code enforcement, housing and redevelopment, planning and zoning, and design committee
  • Building and Zoning Department: Provides building permits and building inspections. A 24 hour notice is needed to schedule an appointment.
  • Engineering: Oversees the planning and designing of new construction and reconstruction of Belle Plaine's sanitary sewers, water mains, storm drainage systems, streets and sidewalks, and other projects to support residents and businesses
  • Finance: Responsible for accounts payable, invoices, and general questions regarding billing. Email at [email protected].
  • Parks and Trails: Manages the City's parks and rental shelter facilities. Parks and facilities include the Aquatic Center, Archery Park, Blaha Memorial Bird Sanctuary, Century Park, Chatfield Square, City Hall, Court Square Park, Creekside Park, Founders Park, Fountain Park, Gateway Parking Lot, Heritage Square, Hickory Park, Meadow Park, Prairie Park, Riverview Park, Townsend Park, Union Square, and Veterans Park
  • Public Works: Responsible for maintaining and repairing the City's streets, water treatment utilities, compost facility, and waste water system. Compost Site is located at SMSC Organics Recycling Facility 1905 Mystic Lake Drive South Shakopee, MN 55379 and The Mulch Store Shakopee 14800 Johnson Memorial Drive Shakopee, MN 55379.
