City Services - Zimmerman City Offices

Provides city services, including:

• Administration: Is responsible for implementing council policies, coordinating elections, licensing, data practices, records retention, the city newsletter, cable access channel, electronic information sign, and the city's website.

• Building department: Is responsible for issuing building permits, inspections, and certificates of occupancy for all building projects within the city limits.

• Finance: Is responsible for accounting, auditing, receipts, and disbursements, cash management, investing city funds, administering payroll, and special assessments.

• Public works: Provides for the operation and maintenance of the city's infrastructure systems. The department's services focus on the following primary areas: street maintenance, sanitary sewer/water system maintenance, parks and ground maintenance, water waste treatment, water supply distribution, and water hardness.

• Public safety: Provides the health, safety, and general welfare of the community through police, fire, and emergency medical support.
