Home safety program for owner-occupied single family homes. Contact the program or go online to receive a safety checklist. The homeowner should go through the checklist and make needed changes, then contact the Fire Department by filling out the form enclosed with the checklist. Firefighters will then make an appointment to visit the home and make sure all smoke alarms are working. While supplies last, homeowners can also receive four free smoke alarms, one stovetop fire extinguisher, and a digital carbon monoxide detector.
