Description

Winona Volunteer Services provides vouchers for hotel/motel short stays for people in an emergency situation. The situation must be solvable within one or two nights (This means that vouchers are not an option for individuals who have no viable plan to acquire immediate housing. These individuals will instead be referred to the Warming Center in Winona or may be offered transportation to shelters in La Crosse or Rochester.) Applicants must demonstrate that an emergency exists and must demonstrate that staying in a motel will resolve the emergency need. Law Enforcement has the ability to issue lodging vouchers after-hours and on weekends.
