Eligibility

Individuals with a disability or older adults ages 62 or older who meet the following:
  • Are a homeowner in Douglas County and live in the home full time (rental properties are not eligible)
  • Have lived in the home for at least 1 year
  • Have homeowner's insurance
  • Income falls below 80% of the median income for Douglas County

Partners with older adults to make improvements to the safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency of their home. Safety improvements may include:

- Easy-to-use cabinet pulls

- Grab bars

- Interior or exterior door adjustments, no-step door thresholds

- Lever-style door handles and faucets

- Ramps

- Railings in halls and stairs

- Widening doorways

- Weatherization enhancements
