Women, Infants and Children - WIC - Countryside Public Health Department

Provides nutrition education and special foods which promote good health for pregnant, breastfeeding, and post-partum women with infants and/or children up to age 5. WIC provides the following services: - Assistance with any special needs - Health assessment and screening - Nutrition education - Referral to other community services Vouchers are given to participants to purchase nutritious foods such as cereal, cheese, eggs, infant formula, fruits and vegetables, milk, and peanut butter.

Pregnant women; women breastfeeding an infant under one year of age; women who have a baby less than 6 months old; infants and children up to five years old; participation in Food Stamps, MFIP, or Medical Assistance is automatic income qualification for an individual; WIC eligibility is based on your current household income; primarily services residents of Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift, and Yellow Medicine counties
