Designed to assist low-income families with their monthly rent payments. Provides for a rent subsidy to be paid to the owner of a rental unit on behalf of the eligible family. Family will pay approximately 30% of its monthly income for rent, and Rice County Housing and Redevelopment Authority will make up the difference to the approved payment standard. Rent is to include maintenance and utility services. Note: Only families eligible to receive Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) assistance are eligible for the homeownership option, must be first-time home buyers, and complete a homeownership counseling program.
