Provides mental health services to individuals in need. Services include: - Crisis line available for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, behavioral crisis, and/or substance use - Individual psychotherapy - Medication management - Psychological evaluations - Psychiatric evaluations - Referrals to other agencies within the community for additional support and treatment

The Department administers the various cash and medical assistance programs as well as child support; is a member of the Blue Plus, UCare, and SCHA delivering the MA programs; operates a licensed Mental Health Center and Crime Victims' Crisis Center; provides child and vulnerable adult protective services; services to persons with developmental disabilities and chemical dependency; in-home family counseling; provides adolescent (SED) day treatment jointly with the Albert Lea School District and children's mental health services.
