Older adults age 60 and older who are residents of Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Cottonwood, Dakota, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Jackson, Le Sueur, Martin, McLeod, Mower, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Pipestone, Ramsey, Redwood, Rice, Rock, Scott, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan, and Winona counties
- Have all documents pertaining to the legal issues including any paperwork received concerning the case available before calling for a screening - If the individual is a refugee or other eligible alien, then I-94, permanent resident card, etc. is needed for service

Description

Provides legal representation and advice to older adults. Handles cases such as: - Abusive debt collection practices - Issues with government benefits such as Medical Assistance (MA) or Social Security SSI programs - Elder Abuse - Housing issues such as eviction or reasonable accommodations of disabilities - Nursing home issues (payment, conditions, and discharge) - Utility shut-off assistance
