Aging and Disability Services - Jewish Family Service of Saint Paul - JFS
Provides the following services: - Consultation with people and their families regarding concerns and needs - Dementia Friends Training: One hour training sessions provide information and help to people to recognize the signs and symptoms of dementia and offer tips for ways to better communicate and support a person experiencing dementia. These sessions are offered to any interested community group. - Grief support for those experiencing loss of a significant person in their lives - PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives): Helps older adults understand persistent sadness and depression by offering in-home counseling sessions and assistance with creating an action plan to improve mood. In-home art therapy sessions are also offered by an art therapist. - Provides assessments, case management, and referrals to community services for older adults and adults with disabilities to community services including home health, homemaking, transportation, companion, and volunteer services

Eligibility
People who are age 55 and older and adults with disabilities, and their family members. Must also be a current JFS client living in the greater Saint Paul area and/or be a member of the Saint Paul Jewish Community.
