Adult Protective Services - Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services - DVHHS

Provides investigation and intervention services on behalf of vulnerable adults who are unable to act on their behalf, manage their affairs, or who are in immediate danger of abuse. Types of abuse may be abandonment, emotional, exploitation, neglect, physical, sexual abuse, or unsafe living conditions. Services include: - Taking reports and investigating abuse and/or maltreatment - Removal of the individual to safer surroundings - Services necessary to remove the conditions which have created a threat to life NOTE: Complaints, questions, or concerns involving incidents in facilities licensed by the Health Department, such as hospitals, nursing homes, boarding care homes, supervised assisted living facilities, and home health agencies can be referred to the Minnesota Board of Aging Ombudsman for Long-Term Care.
