Events: Provides social, recreational, and cultural events that are fully accessible to people with vision loss Peer Mentors: Volunteers with vision loss who have undergone extensive training to provide support to people who are new to vision loss. They meet to work on specific goals for a defined period of time. Peer mentors help participants understand and address feelings of depression and isolation. Application process

Scheduling a meeting, in the home or in our office, is typically required prior to participating in these services. Support groups are held weekdays at various times and locations throughout the 9-county metro area.

Fee

No fees for support groups or peer mentors; small fees for some recreational/social activities in order to help cover the cost of the activities

Eligibility

Anyone whose vision loss interferes with their ability to meet daily independent living needs. Primarily serves residents of Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, Washington, and Wright counties.
