Medical Assistance - MA - Goodhue County Health and Human Services

A federal assistance program that helps pay for the medical and nursing home care of persons who cannot pay for that care. Covered medical services may include: - Chemical dependency care - Eye care - Hospital care - Mental health treatment - Nursing home care - Physician care - Prescriptions - Reimbursement for medical transportation and other health care access services available - Routine dental care NOTE: Persons may be eligible only for MA or they may also be eligible for one of the cash assistance programs, EMA, and/or Food Support services. Those who receive cash through MFIP or MSA will, with few exceptions, also receive MA. MA is different from Medicare.

- Call for an application - For families with children or adults, complete an online application at MNsure.org - For people who are 65 years old or older, call Senior Linkage Line (800)333-2433 for forms and assistance if needed

- Must meet income guidelines and asset standards - Must be Minnesota resident - Must be US citizen or "qualified" non-citizen - Serves residents of Goodhue County
