Eligibility
Hennepin County residents who are:
  • At-risk families with a child 10 years of age or younger or parents who are expecting
  • Needing extra help to be a safe and healthy parent. Families who are experiencing issues with finances/money, addiction, domestic violence, homelessness, abuse or neglect or behavioral health concerns.

Program Fees

  • No Fee
Once enrolled in the Parent Support Outreach Program help is provided to at-risk families to avoid future incidents of child maltreatment. A social worker will be partnered with a family to address the family's needs and enhance the child and family well-being. Services include:
  • Comprehensive assessments, early intervention, outreach, and supportive and therapeutic services
  • Connect families with county and community-based services such as parenting help, medical needs, mental health counseling, and substance use services
  • Helps navigate housing resources, safety from violence at home, and food and clothing resources
  • Job training, job search, and money management
  • Limited financial assistance for families to meet basic needs and apply for financial resources
NOTE: Families who have a current active case with Child Protection Services (CPS) do not qualify. Program participation is voluntary only.
