Waivered Services: - Available to persons with a variety of disabilities - Waivered services are flexible and can be provided in a variety of settings - CADI (Community Alternatives for Persons with Disabilities) Waiver is available to adults and children with disabilities who need a nursing facility level of care: - TBIW (Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver) is available to adults and children who have had severe brain injuries from an accident, or due to stroke, heart attack or disease - MR/RC (Mental Retardation and Related Conditions) Waiver provides supports to adults and children with developmental disabilities - EW (Elderly Waiver) provides supports to seniors at home or in adult foster care who would otherwise have to live in a nursing home - AC (Alternative Care) Waiver provides supports to seniors at home or in adult foster care who would otherwise have to live in a nursing home, who because of their assets don't qualify for traditional Medical Assistance programs. Waivers pay for services such as personal care assistants, independent living skills counseling, homemaking, respite care, in-home family support, and other services Personal Care Attendants: - Provide assistance with daily living activities such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, taking medications, simple housekeeping, and other tasks - PCAs also provide behavioral monitoring and supervision to help clients with behavior problems - PCAs can help clients with FAS to live in a variety of settings, including foster care, their own homes and apartments, and family homes Other services: - In-home family supports and respite RSI provides support to caregivers and families of people with disabilities - Respite services gives caregivers and families a break for a few hours to a few days at a time. Respite can be provided in or outside of the family home - In-Home family supports services helps adults and children with daily life management skills, such as self-care, socialization, sensory/motor development, behavior management, community living and healthy recreation. - Respite and in-home family supports are waivered services programs - Adults and children who do not qualify for the MR/RC waiver may be eligible to receive similar kinds of help through the CADI or PCA programs
