Description

Licensing and certification of nursing homes and other health care facilities in the state of Minnesota. Licensing of home health nursing services, home health aides, and home management providers, including individual paraprofessionals. The department keeps details of surveys of nursing quality for the last three years available in order to assist consumers in deciding which nursing home is the best placement. The surveys evaluate the quality of care and services provided, as well as the appropriateness of the facility's building, equipment, staffing, policies, procedures, and finances. Nursing Home Report Card: Online information on nursing homes. Every nursing home in the state has been given up to five stars in each of eight quality measures, including inspections, and quality of care and a quality-of-life survey among more than one-third of all residents. Enter a ZIP code and a range of miles, then select three priorities from the eight quality measures, a list of the homes ranked by those criteria appear. When clicking on the name of a nursing home, it will show the number of stars for each quality measure and the state average.
